Liam Davies · Investor · Based in South Wales
I'm based in South Wales and I buy businesses across Wales and England. You'd deal with me, start to finish. There's no broker and no fund.
A first call commits you to nothing. Nothing gets back to your staff or customers from me.
I'm looking for established businesses to buy and grow. If you own one and you're thinking about the next few years, I'd like to hear from you.
Check me out properly. Bring your accountant and solicitor to any conversation. I'd worry if you didn't.
I grew up in Ebbw Vale. In my early years I was going down the wrong path, and getting into business turned it around.
I started my first business at 19, in health and fitness. It grew to several staff, and it's where I found out I loved marketing.
My first marketing clients were plastic surgeons, med spas and dentists in Los Angeles and New York. Then I got into property, and that led me to home services and construction businesses. Since then I've grown service businesses in different industries.
I'm 32, I'm a dad first, and I still live in South Wales. School run included.
I've done the hard parts of business: starting from nothing, hiring people and growing. Now I want to take established businesses to the next level, the way I've done for other owners for more than a decade.
My background is marketing, which is how a business wins more of the right work. We've grown businesses from £30,000 a month to as much as £250,000 a month. I grew a construction company to seven figures and a property investment consultancy to £150,000 a month. In 2023 I won Marketing Master of the Year.
In a firm like yours, that means more of the right work coming in, including repeat work like servicing contracts, so less rides on a few big customers, or on you.
I also have a strong network of people I've worked with for years. Whatever your business needs, the right people will be in place to look after it, and the people in it, before you step back. Who runs it day to day depends on the business, and that's something we work out together.
How long you stay on is up to you. It could be a handover over a few months, or one day a week for a year. We write it down either way.
If there's nothing you want to change, tell me. I'd rather know that on the first call.
Ten minutes. You won't need any figures.
If that sounds like yours, ring me. If it doesn't, you might know someone it fits.
Before anything changes, I'll ask how you look after your customers, and we keep doing it that way. I don't speak to your staff, customers or suppliers until you say so.
Most sales end up as a mix of these. Whatever we agree, there's money on completion. The rest sits in a binding contract your own solicitor checks.
If you own the building, you can sell it with the business. Or keep it, and the business pays you rent. I invest in property too, so either works for me.
I won't always be the highest offer. A bigger company in your line of work may pay more, then fold your business into theirs. With me, you deal with one person and the sale stays quiet. Your staff still recognise the business afterwards.
You can stop at any point.
Two business owners I've helped grow. Both are happy to take a call from you. Ask me for their numbers.
